Linecross cost-effective thermoformed and polyurethane solutions.

POLYURETHANE SYSTEMS

Polyurethane is available in many forms and each type has different and unique benefits.
Our experience in creating polyurethane systems for numerous product applications across all of our operating market sectors bears huge testament to the unique and diverse properties of the material.

We can engineer super-flexible self-skinning foam systems and composite substrates that provide incredible lightness, rigidity and heat stability, even in excess of 120 degrees centigrade.

Additionally, Linecross often combines both the thermoforming forming and polyurethane processes by foaming a rigid polyurethane backing to a thermoformed formed outer skin. This utilises the advantages of lightness and rigidity from the PU process as well as the self colour, gloss and other properties achievable from the thermoforming process.

Our range includes:

• Thermally insulative solutions for refrigeration and vehicle applications
• Bootliners and bulkheads
• Door panels and instrument panels incorporating moulded in inserts and fixings
• Bumper solutions for low volume speciality vehicles
• Soft feel vehicle interiors
• Shower trays and cubicles

S-Rim (or Structural Reaction Injection Moulding) uses a closed mould tool to create two-part polyurethane products reinforced with glass fibre. The process can be used to create an infinite range of products including automotive interior parts.

These parts can be supplied in their raw state, or can integrate other materials into the polyurethane, such as a vinyl ‘skin’ for dashboards.

We can add moulded-in fixings, ribs and bosses, ensuring that the part will fit with other components perfectly avoiding the need for secondary operations.
